HS Football Players Beat the Crap Out of School Mascot Before Pep Rally - It was the big pep rally before the annual Thanksgiving Day football game when Stonington High School faced Westerly High. To get the rally off to a rousing start, four sophomore football players allegedly kicked and punched a fellow student who was dressed in the school's bear mascot outfit. For their energetic, but possibly misguided, attempt to flame school spirit each of the boys has received a five-day, in-school suspension for their roles in the incident.
