Glen!! Glen Glen Glen

Glen's the man going to work, got his tie got ambition........................

-Are the Olympics still cool and hip anymore, or are they just played out? I don't know I can never seem to get the pulse of how people feel about the Olympics. I always pretend like I hate them and that I am not going ot watch, but I always end up watching. I love the swimming and basketball especially, but I have watched Beach Volleyball, Ping Pong, an Synchronized diving. I still and always will hate gymnastics though.

-I heard maybe the stupidest comment ever made on sports television yesterday. J.A. Adande of the LA Times and Around the Horn is the culprit. They were talking about Jeremy Roenick who is being investigated for gambling on sports, in the story that broke it was said that Flyers GM Bobby Clarke met with Roenick during the season to discuss this matter and to be careful of the friends he was making and keeping in the gambling community. To this Mr. Adande said, "It is just gamblers, it is not like saying Roenicke has ties to organized crime or anything like that." How much of a monoslavic idiot is this man? Who do you think runs gambling you stupid ass?? Last time I checked it was the mob, it has always been the mob. I am sure when Bobby Clarke talked to him it went somthing like this, "Jeremy you know who these people are right(MOB)? And what they can and will do right? And if you get into any real financial trouble they are going to want tips on your sport, or maybe even force you to throw a game. That is what these people (organized crime) do Jeremy." So in my opinion JA Adande should never be allowed to speak again.

-Lastly we get to the fine organization who I am partially employed by, the National Collegiate Athletic Association. They have now turned down Colorado football player Jeremy Blomm for about the umpteenth time. All this young mans wants to do is go to college and play some football. He happens to be a tremendous skier and has a chance to compete on the international stage, so he needs to have endorsment money to fund his Olympic dreams. Is this any worse, or really much different from the multitude of guys who play Minor League baseball and then decide to go back to college? He is not making any money off of his football playing, he is not getting paid to play college football, basically it is the same as if he got a summer job. Once again the NCAA proves it lack of intelligence and integrity. By the way I am sure they won't let Mike Williams back into school either.
