The Daily Nooner

This is an all Sports Edition

You know what I am sick of, self righteous baseball fans.  "Oh, if the Yankees get Randy Johnson there is no justice."  How about this asshole, GET OVER IT!!!  Yes the system in baseball is completely and utterly flawed, but you know what, that is not my fault.  It is not George Steinbrenners fault either.  Why can't other teams spend money?  I don't know, someone tell me why, please.  Big George loves to put all his money into trying to get the best baseball team he can.  Since 2000 five teams have drawn more than 12 million fans (Cardinals, Giants, Mariners, Yankees, and Dodgers) so they have the ability to spend as much money as they Yankees, yes they certainly do.   Do they, most of them do not, so fuck 'em.  Is it mine or Mr. Steinbrenner's fault that the Giants decided to only have a $59 million payroll, oh thats right, NO!!  Of those 5 teams only 2 have made the World Series recently, fuck the Cardinals, Dodgers, & Mariners if they want Randy Johnson they go and get him, don't tell me the Yankees just spend all their money on players, well duh that is the fucking point!!  Screw Cubs fans, screw Competitive Balance, Screw the Oakland A's for playing "Money Ball", and oh yeah the Yanks haven't won shit since 2000, so stop being so whiney and dramatic about the whole damned thing.  Spend some fucking money, sign free agents do whatever it takes, and it certainly does not take whinning and complaining.

AND

As the Kobe Turns.   Finally we have a good idea who is going to be on the Lakers next year.  Kobe says he just wanted to be a Laker (as long as Phil and Shaq aren't there).  Could there be a man who's public persona has made such a u-turn in the span of a little over a year, the only athlete I can think of is OJ and he had to murder a few people.  The Lakers are now a huge joke, and it is actually very amusing.  But enough about the Lakers, some other basketball teams are making news too.  Appearently the Nets have given up, winning must have been no fun.  The Nuggets signing Kenyon Martin is a very good pick up, this gives them one of the 3 or 4 best frontlines in all of basketball.  Lastly, in typical fashion the Spurs made a small move that nobody paid attention to, they signed Brent Barry which will help lead them to the NBA Finals.

Everyone else complains about the Yankess because their owners are not one person whose only intention is putting a winner on the field. But the Angles are right in the same boat with the first Hispanic owner. He's not complaining and neither is Angelos down in Baltimore. He's tried and failed to do what George does so well.
Yes, those five teams drew more than 12 million, but none of them have their own network broadcasting their games, therefore all the profit made from the TV rights goes right back into George's pocket. A smart move by a smart man that knew what it took to put a winner on the field was money and the will to hire good people to look after and correctly invest that money
All Cubs fans have nothing to say but to look at the Tribune Network or whatever the multi billion dollar company name that owns them is. That's my beef - you have to have at least $500 million to own a major league team. Most of the owners are large companies that invest and own other things like steel, beef and North Dakota. So they complain because The Boss cares about baseball and nothing else. Like the fat man said, stop your fucking crying and spend some money, bitches...
The Lakers will run out Payton, who can still drop 16 with 7 assists in an offense suited to him, Brian Grant, who's good for 8-10 rebounds a night with no offensive responsibilities, Caron Butler, who was the emerging star in Miami before Dwayne Way got there and Lamar Odom, who if he stays off the pipe long enough, something that will be hard back in LA with all those Vatos and dime sacks of dust, anyway, if he stays off, he can be nasty. Granted, they still need a big man to fill the middle (That's why the Heat signing Doleac is a great move, keeps him out of LA). Point is, the Lakers will be a pretty good team, battling an old Sac-town team for the top spot in the Pacific, which is a two seed.
That is, unless the Clips don't match the Suns offer to Q, then the Sun might set on all of the Pacific Division.
And everyone who says the West has the best, remember this. If the Finals started tomorrow, who would you take out West to beat either the Heat and Shaq or the Pistons with Rasheed Can't Read and Antonio McNice playing 20 minutes off the bench? Name me a frontcout in the West that can deal with that? and don't say the Nuggets cuz they don't have the size to deal with me and my boys here in Mormonville. In fact, if Carlos Boozer can match his 20 ppg dreams, AK47 continues to improve and I piss on people like I did in the 2003 NBA Playoffs, all the honies back in whatever Eastern bloc country I'm from will sweat my technique and my nut sack
Memet Okor OUT.
